Assists with navigating programs/services, and provides volunteer-based transportation and grocery delivery services.
- Shop by Phone: The purpose of our Shop-by-Phone program is to provide grocery shopping services to residents who are isolated in their homes due to illness, injury or disability. Clients provide their grocery list by phone on Monday mornings. On Tuesdays, volunteers shop for the groceries at the Save-On-Foods store located at South Point Mall. Volunteers deliver the groceries straight to the client's door. They accept payment for groceries and delivery by credit or cheque only. The delivery charge is $7.00 for a regular size delivery and $14.00 for an extra large delivery.
- Volunteer Wheels: Volunteer drivers provide assistance to residents of White Rock and South Surrey who are unable to use public transit and have no other means of reaching essential medical and dental appointments in the Metro Vancouver area. Volunteer drivers pick up and return clients to their residences. Volunteers will take ride requests Monday to Friday from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. They are able to provide a maximum of four drives per month.
The Sources Community Seniors Hub assists seniors to navigate programs and services available to them in the community, including:
- Connection to services and community such as volunteer opportunities
- Access to information
- Access to federal and provincial income benefits
- Form Completion: OAS, GIS, CPP & other government benefits; rental applications; SAFER
- And more!
