Chilliwack Community Services offers settlement and Integration services for immigrants and refugees
Immigrant Services: Serves federal and provincial clients such as permanent residents, sponsored refugees, clients with an IRCC letter informing him/her of their approval in principle for permanent residency, provincial nominees, temporary foreign workers, naturalized Canadian citizens, live-in caregivers, international students, and refugee claimants.

Settlement Services: Provide information and referrals, assessments and action plans for immigrants and their families to help them understand and successfully navigate BC's social and economic systems.
We also provide:
  • Assistance in completing forms and applications, eg. medical care card, driver license, social insurance number, citizenship, passport
  • Conversation circles, orientation sessions on topics including housing, health care, education, banking, recreation, and leisure activities
  • Workshops: Computer skills, citizenship, and driving test preparation
  • Field trips to local community amenities, including a library, health, education, recreation, and cultural facilities
  • Job search
  • Interpretation and translation services available in more than fifteen languages. This service is offered on a case by case basis. Please contact for more information

  • English Language Classes: Classes are available from September to June for immigrants 17 years and older. An application and assessment are also required.
    • Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada (LINC): English language instruction within the context of day to day life skills is provided to adult immigrants to assist them to settle successfully and participate in all aspects of Canadian society as quickly as possible
    • Childcare is available for morning classes only, for students with children 0 to 5 years
    • Free Drop-in Conversational English: This is the only language support available to visitors, or other newcomers who do not meet the qualifications for our English classes

    Chilliwack Local Immigration Partnership (LIP): Creates awareness of services for newcomers in Chilliwack while building relationships and connections across the community.
