Employment and Immigrant and Refugee Services
Provided by Chilliwack Community Services
Settlement Services: Provide information and referrals, assessments and action plans for immigrants and their families to help them understand and successfully navigate BC's social and economic systems.
English Language Classes: Classes are available from September to June for immigrants 17 years and older. An application and assessment are also required.
- Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada (LINC): English language instruction within the context of day to day life skills is provided to adult immigrants to assist them to settle successfully and participate in all aspects of Canadian society as quickly as possible
- Childcare is available for morning classes only, for students with children 0 to 5 years
- Free Drop-in Conversational English: This is the only language support available to visitors, or other newcomers who do not meet the qualifications for our English classes
Chilliwack Local Immigration Partnership (LIP): Creates awareness of services for newcomers in Chilliwack while building relationships and connections across the community.
